More than 4,000 rural labors in Tra Vinh province benefit from job skills training. 85% of trained labors have stable jobs and significantly improve their incomes.
The project goal is to provide job skills training for 12,500 rural labors. After the first half of its lifetime, the project successfully trains more than 4,000 rural job seekers. With 3 different types of training: commune-based training, enterprise-based training and Vocational Training Center-based training, the Project provides quite enough skills for job seekers. Types of skills are also very diversified. So, those who want to have simple jobs to make use of their off-farm leisure and those who want be employed in big companies can also take the training. The project training strategy also focuses on the stable employment and income improvement of trained labors. The training courses help improve their income significantly, nearly 50% higher over before they take the training. “I am very thankful for the IMPP project for providing the chance to improve my skills. And now, I get the increase up to 1,5 million a month”, said Thach Soul a construction coolie in Ngu Lac commune.
The initial success is a good signal proving that the IMPP project is on the right way to reach its goal – poverty alleviation in rural areas in Tra Vinh province.
