Linking job information activities between the rural youth and enterprises conducted by Developing Business with the Rural Poor project in Ben Tre Province (DBRP Ben Tre) create job opportunities for rural poor and meet labor demands of enterprises engaging in production and trading in Ben Tre province
Since early this year, DBRP Ben Tre has signed Minutes Of Understanding (MOU) with 08 enterprises inside and outside the provincial industrial zone to link job information between the rural youth and enterprises through linking job information workshops.
The linking job information activities between the rural poor and enterprises has helped connect the labor demands of enterprises to job needs of the rural poor. Before DBRP Ben Tre implemented the linking job information activities between the rural youth and enterprises, the rural poor did not have many opportunities to approach job intelligence, neither directly discuss with enterprises. They could only access to job information through the mass media and the provincial jobcenter. Since the MOU was signed with enterprises, the Project Management Unit of DBRP Ben Tre has held 05 linking job information workshops at Ba Tri , Cho Lach, Mo Cay Nam and Mo Cay Bac Districts attended by more than 500 labors at working-age. The workshops provided participants with opportunities to directly dialogue with enterprises to have better understanding about interests and obligations of employees, business policies of enterprises and businesses, which helped them find suitable jobs and have stable incomes, therefore, contributing to the poverty alleviation.
DBRP Ben Tre initially found these pilot activities effective. “The goal of these linking job information activities between the rural youth and enterprises is to create conditions for the rural poor to find good jobs to improve their living and simultaneously support enterprises by ensuring labor resources for their stable production. It then certainly contributes to the poverty alleviation”, said मर. Nguyen Truc Son - Project Director of DBRP Ben Tre. Currently, the labor demands of about 3,000 enterprises engaging in production in Ben Tre province are pretty high. DBRP Ben Tre will, therefore, continue to carry out more linking job information activities in 2010.
